Doing my Podcast is really like it was when I first started in radio...
...there's a wild west kind of feel, anything is possible, freedom to screw up and the pay!
Which is why it's very important to continue to contribute to the Tip Jar in the Top Links on http://www.jerrylentz.com/ and to buy a t-shirt or thong!
When I taught Broadcasting I told my students that they'd have to embrace technology and not fear it, the Radio Industry has feared it and that fear is it's doom.
Got a huge laugh today when I read and watched a video of a news story about how a local Clear Channel radio station is offering new way of posting resumes. The staff select five sad stories from contestants and help them make a 30 second free commercial, marketing themselves to potiential employers who you know aren't listening or looking. I hope the commercials are done in that raceway voice, "SUNDAY! SUNDAY! SUNDAY! This guy needs a job..."

I wonder if the Thousands of employees laid off by Clear Channel can use it?
The success of my podcast and others, plus online streaming radio just proves how silly all the rearranging of deck chairs the radio industry is doing to keep their Titanic afloat. People can hear the music they want, when they want, so radio is missing the lifeboat. The web is giving them what they want and need. Advertisers can clearly see the stats and you don't have to wait for vague results in 5 months. I can't see me getting laid off from my own podcast and I can get a whole lot more from it even if I never have ads!
Hear today's show and find out why it's my MOST downloaded Podcast Radio Show EVER!
