How can you NOT listen?

Tonight I was reading the new issue of Filmmaker Magazine in a cafe I like, reading about the film, "Baghead" which I want to see, and the place was empty except for me. I'm just reading away lost in the article and suddenly the lights go out!

I look around.

I'm guessing the power is out.

Finally I get up and see the girl who works there, outside with her bag and coat leaving to go home, walking to her car! I get to the door, but it's locked! I bang on the door really loud and she turns and stares at me for a bit then runs back. She unlocks the door and starts apologizing really fast. She checks the alarm. She evidently set it before she left me there.

She said it had been a long night, but it would've been longer for me, because I wouldn't have been able to get out.
